For Immediate Release
Ealing, London – Former Workers Party Parliamentary candidate for Ealing North, Sam Habeeb, is excited to announce the launch of his new initiative, the “Shadow MP of Ealing North.” In this role, Habeeb will work as a community campaigner, dedicated to monitoring and holding the current Labour MP for Ealing North, James Murray, accountable for his work in the constituency. Habeeb’s initiative will also focus on addressing local concerns and promoting grassroots democracy to ensure the voices of residents are heard and acted upon.
Following the 2024 General Election, in which Habeeb secured nearly 7.3% of the vote with thousands of local residents backing his campaign, it became clear that there is a strong demand for real representation and positive change in Ealing North. This result reflects a growing frustration with the status quo and the need for continuous local engagement beyond election cycles.
“Shadow MP of Ealing North” Initiative
Habeeb’s initiative will focus on two key goals: holding James Murray accountable for his performance as MP and engaging the local community in meaningful ways to promote local democracy. The initiative includes the following objectives:
- Tracking and Reporting on James Murray’s Performance: MP James Murray has served Ealing North for several years but has come under repeated criticism for failing to adequately address the needs of the local community. Residents have reported dissatisfaction with his performance on critical issues such as housing, public transport, healthcare, and local services. As “Shadow MP,” Habeeb will regularly monitor Murray’s parliamentary activities and local efforts, publishing transparent reports to highlight whether he is delivering on his promises to constituents. If Murray continues to fall short, Habeeb will make that information available to the public, empowering voters with the facts they need to hold their MP accountable.
- A Voice for Neglected Communities: Many communities in Ealing North, especially low-income families, renters, and public sector workers, have felt neglected by their elected representatives. Habeeb’s initiative will focus on providing these communities with a louder voice. He will regularly meet with residents to listen to their concerns and ensure that these issues are raised publicly, applying pressure on the local MP and local government to act on them.
A Call for Action
Sam Habeeb is encouraging the residents of Ealing North to get involved in this effort to strengthen local democracy and ensure their needs are met. Whether you have a complaint about the performance of the current MP, James Murray, or you simply want to see more action on key issues affecting your community, Habeeb is here to help.
“My mission is to put power back in the hands of the people. If you feel that your voice has been ignored by James Murray or if your concerns have not been addressed, please reach out to me. I will make sure your concerns are heard, and I will hold those in power accountable,” said Habeeb.
He added, “Together, we can ensure that local democracy thrives in Ealing North, and that every resident has the opportunity to participate in the decisions that affect their lives.”
