Tropical Spice is an institution for the local people and is always one of my favorites when I want authentic Jamaican flavors. The jerk chicken perfectly marinated in flavors has marinated its smoky spicy jerk seasoning leaving you chewing on meat with tender juicy fibers, very flavor-packed.

Why we Love it

Locals and visitors never fail to order Jamaica’s national dish- ackee and saltfish for that delicious mix of creamy ackee and salty cod. Tropical Spice is lively and warm at the same time. The restaurant is a good spot for a casual dinner or as a takeaway. Locals highly complimented large portions at really affordable prices, thus excellent value for money.

Island Delights truly lives up to its name in terms of its delightful range of traditional Caribbean dishes. The curry goat is rich, tender, and perfectly spiced, and the oxtail stew is hearty, very slow-cooked, and just melts in your mouth. Review

Tikki Bar London is one of the tiny but mighty restaurants that serve authentic Caribbean street food in Acton. Flaky and flavorful patties are their favorite among fans; they come in classic fillings like beef and chicken. More filling options come in the form of roti wraps, filled with curried meats and vegetables.

In jerky pork, Tikki Bar London offers another standout: spiced, blackened meat with balanced flavors of smoke, sweetness, and spice. This restaurant makes for a good fast-food or takeaway option but can also be enjoyed while seated in their modestly sized but nice seating area.

Review

Mama Dee’s Kitchen is highly recommended for a real homely dining experience of totally authentic Caribbean home cooking. Managements are well represented by the families who, in proud smiles and with a dash of love poured into each served dish, dispense recipes inherited and passed over generations. Always a favorite were the fried dough dumplings crisped on the outside with soft insides.

Why we Love it

One dish is escovitch fish. This is tangy and spicy fried fish. On top are the pickled vegetables. Alongside, they also have some festival, that’s sweet fried dough, and steamed vegetables as side dishes.

Menu
  • Escovitch Fish

5. Spice Island Grill

Review

If you are looking for bold flavors and a very lively atmosphere, Spice Island Grill is the place to go. The ribs fall off the bone here, full of smoke flavor and coated with a perfectly sticky glaze. The best served dish in this place would be pepper shrimp which has fiery spice doused on it yet is sort of sweet with a freshness that goes along with the shrimp.

Why we Love it

The Spice Island Grill has combo meals, as well. This is one of the good restaurants where one can get to taste several dishes at once. It is beautifully decorated and backed up by supportive staff, hence sought more for group dinners and parties.
