Bukayo Saka, born 5 September 2001, is a right winger. Bukayo represents both Arsenal and the club, but on international duty he also represents the team of England, for he is the only good player with this kind of talent, as he has great creativity combined with pure hard work throughout his games, like when playing within his formation.

Youths’ Career

On 24 August 2016, Saka came on as a substitute for his first match for the England national under-16 team in a friendly, which England won 3-1 away from home against Romania. He was called up to the squad for the 2018 Torneio Internacional do Algarve, where he played twice as England finished third. Saka was called up to the squad for the 2018 UEFA European Under-17 Championship in England and played in all five of the team’s matches at the tournament.

Senior career

On 4 September 2020, Saka made his first appearance for the England under-21 team, playing in a 6–0 away win over Kosovo in qualification for the 2021 UEFA European Under-21 Championship. On 1 October, Saka was called up to the England senior team for the first time, and he eventually played his international debut as one of the starters in a 3–0 win over Wales. After playing four times for England, Saka is now committed to England internationally and can never play for Nigeria again.

Saka was named in a 26-man squad for the UEFA Euro 2020. In a friendly against Austria on 2 June, he made his first international goal in what proved to be an only goal to a 1–0 victory. He came into the team for the third Euro 2020 group stage game between England and the Czech Republic played on 22 June and won the man of the match award. At the final game on 11 July against Italy, Saka was also brought on at halftime after Kieran Trippier got injured.

Personal life

Saka’s favorite footballer is Thierry Henry, and he claims Alexis Sánchez as his influence, saying he even tried to copy Sánchez’s boots when he was an academy player. Among past teammates, Saka said David Luiz helped him the most in his career, saying “he went out of his way” to help a lot of Arsenal youngsters “on and off the pitch.”.

Saka is a devout Christian, and in interviews, he said he reads the Bible every night. In March 2024, Saka launched his range of peri-peri sauces branded ‘PERi-PERi Saka’ at the Nando’s restaurant chain.
